Don’t think you have to plan some big international vacation to get your beach fix this summer; we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world located in the United States. Many of which are in a variety of different geographical regions, so find one nearby and you can have the trip of a lifetime without the cost of flying to some of the world’s top beaches.

1. Dry Tortugas Beaches, Florida:


It’s easy to mistake this island in the Florida Keys for a tropical paradise in the Maldives, with its white sand and crystal clear waters. This beach is also a popular destination due to its vast variety of marine life, making it ideal for those who love underwater adventures. This beach will definitely capture the heart of any snorkeler.

2. Homer Spit Beach, Alaska:


Unlike your typical beach going experience you won’t want to be sporting your bikini here, but the scenery makes up for the cooler temperatures. This beach is surrounded by glaciers, which makes it a popular beach for day or night bonfires to warm up a bit and relax to the breathtaking views surrounding the bay.

3. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Michigan:


This cluster of beaches along Lake Michigan’s shore line is often referred to as “The Hidden Riviera of America” due to its golden sands and sapphire waters. These beautiful waters are surrounded by sky high sand dunes that can be climbed, biked or just hiked up for the adventure seeker.

4. Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur, California:


The landscapes on this beach will make you feel like you have found a little piece of heaven on Earth. There isn’t really sand on this beach, but its shoreline is composed of garnet rocks that shimmer in a violet hue under the sunlight, for a truly magical view. This beach also features unique rock arches allowing for beautiful beams of light to shine through in all directions. This is truly a site seeing beach, and a photographers dream.

5. Moshup Beach, Massachusetts:


This beach located in Martha’s Vineyard and is full of vibrant colors leaving you unsure of which magnificent monument to focus on. This beaches’ main focus is its colored pieces of Earth. The vibrant green, red, and yellow tints are a result of the sedimentary clay in the cliffs. Just throw down a towel and relax while enjoying this view, climbing on these cliffs is illegal as it removes the clay. Oh and besides the amazing rock formations, there is just as an amazing bright blue waters crashing into the shore line.
