September, the perfect time of the year to get outside! Your hiking and camping trips will be the perfect temperature during the day and just cool enough at night for a bonfire. Take one of our weekender or duffle bags and go off the grid for a few days. Not to mention, September is full of local festivities and is ideal for walking around the city with one of our casual backpacks or sackpacks. While enjoying the outdoor bistro patio life, count on there being plenty of pumpkin spiced and apple cider flavored treats!

So, we may be jumping the gun a little bit, but everyone loves fall! The perfect weather, beautiful colors, cozy sweaters. Below are a few of the most gorgeous and delicious fall drink recipes to keep your warm on your weekend camping trip, or to look for at your local bistros on your weekend walk through the city.

Warm Apple Cider Floats

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tbs caramel sauce
  • Grated nutmeg

Directions:

  • In a small saucepan, heat cider with cinnamon stick until warm
  • Pour warm cider into glasses. Top with ice cream, caramel sauce and a grating of fresh nutmeg

Pumpkin Pie Steamers

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup
  • Cinnamon
  • Whipped Cream

Directions:

  • Bring milk to a slow simmer over the stove
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup to your milk and stir well
  • Top with whipped cream and add a dash of cinnamon to the top

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup of caramel sauce
  • Sweetened whipped cream or vanilla marshmallows
  • Grated chocolate for garnish

Directions

  • Heat milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat
  • Once milk is warm, stir in chocolate chips and caramel and whisk until chocolate has melted
  • Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and/or marshmallows
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle grated chocolate on the top

S’mores Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of water
  • ¼ cup of cocoa powder
  • 2 Tbsp light chocolate syrup
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • ¼ Tsp of non-bitter stevia
  • Pinch of salt
  • Graham crackers (crushed for rim)
  • ½ cup of marshmallows

Directions

  • Preheat oven to low broil and move oven rack to the second from the top, place baking sheet on rack
  • Heat milk and water in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through (about 5 minutes)
  • Add cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, sugar, stevia and salt and whisk vigorously until thoroughly combined
  • Take a few marshmallows and rub them around the top of your mugs so the graham crackers will stick. Then dip mug in graham cracker crumbs
  • Pour in hot chocolate and top with ¼ cup of marshmallows. Set mugs on the baking sheet in the oven and broil until browned.
  • Once golden brown, remove from the oven and top with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a few extra graham cracker crumbs

Vanilla Cinnamon Steamer

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • Whipped cream
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Directions:

  • Warm milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and pour in the sugar and vanilla extract. Allow the milk and warm and the sugar to completely dissolve, but do not allow it to simmer or boil. It is the perfect temperature when steam rises from the center of the pan
  • Pour the warmed milk into a blender and whiz on high until the milk is good and frothy.
  • Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream and sprinkle cinnamon on top

Apple Cider Cups

Ingredients:

  • Large apples
  • Lemon juice
  • Apple cider
  • Cinnamon sticks

Directions:

  • Cut the top off of the apple and begin to scooping out the center of your apple so you have a nice “cup”
  • Once hallowed out, brush lemon juice over the inside of the apples (to prevent browning)
  • Fill with apple cider and garnish with cinnamon sticks

Pumpkin Apple Cider

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of pumpkin puree
  • 3 cups of apple cider
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon and pinch of allspice, cloves, ginger and nutmeg
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar

Directions

  • In a saucepan, heat pumpkin puree, apple cider and cinnamon together. Stir frequently until warm
  • Beat the heavy cream until whipped cream forms, and add 1 ½ tablespoons of cinnamon sugar
  • Pour the drink into mason jars and dollop the cinnamon sugar whipped cream on top. Sprinkle with ½ tbsp cinnamon sugar and garnish with an apple slice.

Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider

Ingredients:

  • 12 cups of apple juice
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ cup of caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

  • Heat apple juice and cinnamon sticks in the slow cooker for about 4 hours on high. Let cinnamon sticks soften and uncurl
  • Before serving, stir in ½ cup of caramel sauce and pour cider into mugs
  • Top with whipped cream and drizzle caramel sauce on top

Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups of whole milk
  • ½ cup of canned pumpkin puree
  • ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 oz of white chocolate (finely chopped)

Directions:

  • In a small sauce pan over medium heat, combine milk, pumpkin and spices. Cook stirring constantly until just simmering
  • Remove from heat and add chocolate (but save a little for a garnish on top!)
  • Pour into mugs and top with a generous amount of whipped cream, a few shavings of white chocolate and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice

Warm Vanilla Cider

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of fresh apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 whole nutmeg seeds
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and scraped)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Honeyed walnuts

Directions:

  • Combine apple cider, brown sugar, nutmeg seeds and vanilla bean in a medium saucepan and let simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes
  • Remove from heat and pour into heatproof glasses or mugs

Top with whipped cream and sprinkle a few honeyed walnuts on top
